This is an everyday cotton snood. Used by groomers and show dog handlers to keep your dog's hair or ears out of their food/water bowls when eating or drinking. Prevents soiled hair and mats from forming and saves you from cleaning and brushing out food debris.

2 types of snood:

Show Snoods - light weight or satin type fabric
Everyday Snoods- Still suitable for show days, these are a medium weight fabric e.g. cotton for harder wearing for everyday use.

Snoods are an essential part of your show dog kit, and the easiest way to keep your show dog's ear clean and tidy, stop ear chewing and reduce grooming time.

All sNoodZ have a reinforced elastic finish at the head and neck, the neck is generally 2-3cm's wider than the head. A slimmer fitting snood in a variety of fabrics and colours, with a banded elastic edge finish, the elastic is sewn in similar to a waist band and is unseen, the advantage is that the elastic will not twist or break. This is a permanent method and sNoodZ are not adjustable, check the size guide under 'specifications' before ordering.

The sNoodZ range is not only practical but adds a touch of colour to your day, and lets face it some days its just nice to have something a little bit sparkly  its a little bit of  doesn't mean its boring. The sNoodZ range adds a little glamour, and they're even back into fashion for people although more recently called buffs... thanks for the reality TV show "survivor" While we don't make them for people we do have a good range for you to choose from for your show dogs.

Snoods
Snood Size

Where to measure your dog;

The snood fits over the head and neck. The head elastic sits just in front of the dogs ears, at the back of the skull and the neck elastic should sit about where a standard flat collar would go.

Make sure it’s not too tight. It should fit snugly without causing any pressure on your dog's head or neck. The neck elastic is approx 2-5cm more than the neck, to allow for comfort.

Never use a snood smaller than your dogs head - it will be to tight and cause discomfort to your dog.

Elastic Finish

Reinforced Finish: The most permanent method with the elastic is sewn in similar to a waist band and is unseen, the advantage is the elastic will not twist

Winter Warmers NZ is fairly warm, there are area’s that do get very cold in winter and some breeds like whippets & greyhounds that enjoy the benefits of Winter Warmer Snoods. The principle of the snood is the same however its purpose is to keep your dog warm, so these are designed slightly differently and made from warm poplar fleece.
Wearing A Snood Scrunch the snood up in your hands and place over your dog’s head, tucking the ears in. The head elastic sits above ears, at the back of the skull and the neck elastic should sit about where a standard flat collar would go.& make sure it’s not too tight. It should fit snuggly without causing any pressure on your dog's head or neck. The best way to get your dog used to wearing a snood is to offer positive reward. Dogs are smart, it won’t take long to work out there get rewards for doing nothing. With a treat in your hand, put the snood on your arm, as your dog takes the treat move the snood onto his head and reward again or place his dinner in front of him & It won’t take long before you can slip the snood on right before meals without any fuss as they associate the snood with dinner time. And of course no more food stuck in his ears, means less grooming for you If you only use a snood pre showing use the same method but using a small dog treat rather than a whole meal.
