Handy Tip: Carding the Coat
In a similar technique to using a stripping knife, place the carding comb on an angle almost flat against the coat. Make short strokes to drag the hair between the comb teeth always in the direction of coat growth. Your comb should have removed loose and dead coat.
- Make sure to check occasionally that you are removing the entire hairs. If you find cut hairs - adjust your technique so that follow the direction of growth and keep the comb straight.
- Existing skin or coat conditions will be further aggravated with carding, so is best avoided.
